— We generate vastly dense but uniform arrays of user-designed adhesive and fluorescent micro-patterns embedded in an elastomeric film with controlled rigidity (>120 micro-patterns per sqmm). 100,000s of patient-derived single-cells (obtained precisely from the human tissue where disease originates) independently locate and adhere to the micro-patterns (one cell per micro-pattern) to which they apply traction forces and visibly alter their shape, enabling intuitive image-based assessments of cell contractility at extreme throughputs.
